New development platform for TVs, set-top boxes and Blu-ray players.
Adobe Systems on Monday unveiled a version of its Flash multimedia streaming technology that would allow people to run entertainment programming directly to television sets from the Internet, a new option for the rapidly changing digital-home market.
Adobe also has signed up a host of partners to support the technology, called the Adobe Flash Platform for the Digital Home. The new platform is available now to OEMs (original equipment manufacturers), and the first devices and processors that will support it should be available in the second half of the year, Adobe said.

MUMBAI: The rupee ended near its low for the day, dropping for the first time in four days on speculation of increased dollar demand from importers. Dealers said that choppiness in the stock market did not help things either. The yen and dollar strengthened broadly on Monday as concerns due to the outbreak of swine flu in Mexico sent investors rushing towards safe haven currencies.

Los Angeles, Apr 25 (PTI) Supermodel Heidi Klum, who is pregnant with her fourth child, is hoping to have a baby girl.
Klum said she and her husband would be happy with either boy or girl but they were hoping for a little girl, but her daughter Leni wants a little sister.
“We’d be happy with either but it would be a lie if I said we all weren’t hoping for a little girl,” Klum told Us magazine.
Klum said her daughter Leni has promised to be a good sister.

HYDERABAD: The All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) will be held at in the state on Sunday. The exam will be conducted by the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal, formerly Regional Engineering College. Earlier, the test was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
The examination will be held at various centres in the state from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm. Around 35,000 candidates will be taking the test from Hyderabad alone. Continue Reading

Aizawl, Apr 25 : Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla has sought for Rs 2,335 crore from the Centre for reconstruction of the state saying it’s economy was totally crippled by the 20-year-long insurgency there.
Mizoram government also sought help of the Finance Commission to tide over problems arising out of the proposed implementation of Sixth Central Pay Commission and asked for allocation of additional Rs 2,088.13 crore. Continue Reading
