Looks like Swine Flu is the newest virus threatening North America. After killing 61 people in Mexico and sickening another thousand, swine or “Pig Flu” is making its way to the United States. So far only 7 cases have been reported in California and Texas, but the World Health Organization believes this could be more than just a passing flu. Although usually rare in humans, this strain seems to be different. The symptoms of swine flu are similar to the regular flu including fever, cough, fatigue and lack of appetite.

A man by the name Khaima from Tisi (Tuisi) village, Siaha District, Mizoram was shot dead while hunting into the boundary of another village called Chhaolo (Chhuarlung). The man with his friends went on a hunt into the area when he came across another hunter from Chhaolo (Chhuarlung) village and was reportedly mistaken as wild animal and the accident occured. He was survived by his wife alone. This kind of accidents had occured in the last few years too. In 2002 a young man from Zawngling named Hre-u accidentally shot himself and died at the spot. Another incident was in (2005/2006?) where a man named Duakhei from Theiva village was mistakenly shot to dead. There were another two accidents that I can recollect even only from Zawngling village, but these were lucky and survived.
