Champions League T20 kicks-off in Bangalore

Indian Premier League-II runners-up Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on South Africa’s Cape Cobras in the opening match of the Champions League Twenty20 cricket tournament that commences in Bangalore on October 8.

Hyderabad will host the final, on October 23, as well as the second semi-final, on October 22, while Delhi will host the first semi-final on October 21, as per the draw and match schedule announced on Thursday by the CLT20 governing council. Continue Reading

Cisco to develop 6.6 lakh sq ft more space in Bangalore

BANGALORE: This comes as a downpour in Bangalore’s realty drought. Multinational networking giant Cisco has cleared the deck for developing an additional 6.6 lakh sq ft office space with a provision of scaling it up to 2.2 million sq ft in Bangalore, making this the largest development plan by an IT major in recent times. More than the realty expansion, the move perhaps signals the fact that the IT industry may be readying to invest on future growth, according to a realty consultant who works closely with many IT companies. Mizoram govt to form committee on corporal punishment

Aizawl, July 30 Growing complaints of corporal punishments in educational institutions have prompted the Mizoram government to form a committee to study such cases well as ragging in schools across the state.

“A committee would be formed within a month and would undertake extensive study on the reported cases of corporal punishment and ragging all over the state,” an official in the state Social Welfare department said. Continue Reading
