Class 10 and 12 CBSE examinations for over 14.5 lakh students across the country will begin on Monday. The exams will begin from March 2, but 10th standard boards would end on March 30 and that of Class 12 on April 2.
Bangalore: Over 14.5 lakh students will sit for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examination starting Monday at over 5,000 centres in the country and abroad.
According to an official release, 8.24 lakh Class 10 students and 6.37 lakh Class 12 students will take the exam. Last year, 7.65 lakh candidates appeared for the Class 10 examinations and 5.49 lakh for Class 12. Of the total number of Class 10 students this year, 3.36 lakh are female and 4.87 lakh male. In Class 12, there are 2.64 lakh female and 3.73 lakh male candidates. Among the candidates in special categories, 2,228 of Class 10 and 1,707 of Class 12 students will appear in 14 centres.
A CBSE official said this is the first time special educators have been brought in to address problems of differently abled children taking the exams.
