Deccan Chargers have won the IPL-2009 Trophy

Chasing a victory target of 144 runs, Bangalore managed 137/9 in 20 overs as Pragyan Ojha took 3 wickets.
Bangalore were well on course to victory when Rahul Dravid
and Ross Taylor were at the crease.
The slide started when Dravid (9) was clean bowled by Harmeet Singh in the 12th over.
Taylor hit a six and 3 fours in his 20-ball 27 before Andrew Symonds had caught by Venugopal Rao at fine leg. Symonds then had Virat Kohli (7) stumped by his captain Adam Gilchrist to turn the match on its head.
Harmeet then took his second wicket when he had Mark Boucher (5) caught by Herschelle Gibbs at backward piont to reduce Bangalore to 107/7.
It boiled down to Bangalore needing 15 runs off the last over that was bowled by RP Singh.
Anil Kumble took a single on the first run, Robin Uthappa wasted two deliveries, then took 2 runs off the fourth ball. The fifth delivery went for 4 leg byes and the last delivery went for a single as Deccan were crowned the IPL 2009 winners.
Bangalore were 69/3 in 10 overs.
Bangalore got off to a bad start in their run chase with RP Singh dismissing Jacques Kallis in the 4th over. Kallis hit 3 fours in his 17-ball 16.
Pragyan Ojha struck with his first delivery when Manish Pandey (4) edged to keeper Adam Gilchrist for the catch.
Roelof van der Merwe hit 3 sixes and a four in his 21-ball 32 before Ojha had him stumped by Gilchrist in his second over.
Earlier, Bangalore captain Anil Kumble took 4 wickets as Deccan scored 143/6 in 20 overs.
Electing to bowl after winning the toss, Kumble dismissed Deccan captain Adam Gilchrist in the first over for a duck.
Gilchrist charged down the pitch, tried to play across the line, missed the wrong ‘un that pegged back the leg stump.
R Vinay Kumar too struck in his first over when he had Tirumalsetti Suman (10) caught in the covers by Manish Pandey to reduce Deccan to 18/2.

Symonds hit a six and 4 fours in his 21-ball 33 and was threatening to take the game away from Bangalore till Kumble came back in the attack.
And Kumble accomplished his mission when Symonds edged a wrong ‘un onto his stumps.
Herschelle Gibbs and Rohit Sharma added 52 runs for the fourth wicket before Kumble again came into the attack and dismissed
both Rohit (24) and Venugopal Rao (0) in his last over.
