Aizawl | November 1 : Young Mizos who are inspiring to become journalists will soon not have to struggle going outside Mizoram to pursue journalism. The state will soon establish an institute of mass communication in the state capital. The survey work to set up the Indian Institute of Mass Communication is underway. According to state chief minister Lal Thanhawla once the survey work is done the state government will not wait to start the work on war-footing. Lal Thanhawla disclosed this information on Saturday during an inaugural function of the Mizoram University School of Social Sciences building at university campus in Aizawl. The state chief minister also said that young Mizos will be boosted up in the field of fashion if the Ministry of Textile has its way.
The Ministry of Textile is said to have intimated to the state government regarding its keen interest to set up Indian Institute of Fashion Technology in Aizawl. On the educational front, Lal Thanhawla said that his one year old government has been spending utmost energy to uplift the quality of education in Mizoram. According to the chief minister, School of Sciences will have five departments which includes History, Psychology, Political Science, Public Administration and Social Work having Classroom, Faculty room, Museum, School Seminar and Conference halls in each department.
